Baby Care

Here at BerryBest Baby™ we are very careful about which products we use on ourselves and our children.

Babies especially have delicate skin that absorbs chemicals faster than the rest of us, and many of us are using ‘off the shelf’ products that are actually harmful to our children.

Harmful toxins are found in most personal care products on the market, but with consumers becoming more aware of what we’re putting on our skin – more and more products are becoming available for us to use that are much safer and nurture our skin and the skin of our little ones.

So don’t be drawn automatically to labels such as ‘tear free,’ ‘gentle,’ ‘pure,’ and even ‘organic.’ Many big brands are actually contaminated with known cancer-causing chemicals according to independent lab tests by Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. Educate yourself as to what is ok and what is not ok to use for your family.

While it’s almost impossible to completely eliminate our exposure to harmful toxins, it is important to reduce the toxic load wherever we can.

The reality is you don’t need to use many personal care products for your baby, my personal mantra when it comes to this is less is best, keep it simple. Keep the toxic load off our skin, after all it is the biggest organ of our body so we need to look after it. We don’t need to be drawn in by all the products on the market.

As a family we have been using safe products for more than seven years (yes, that dates back to before we had children!) We love how it’s so easy to order and can trust that they have been fully researched and developed to avoid more than 3000 potentially harmful ingredients.  The best part is they are really beautifully products that really do work.

Wishing you the BerryBest!

P.S. Here is a great tutorial on how to remove cradle cap from your baby’s hair. Our favorite oil for removing cradle cap is Sweet Almond Oil – see the menu item to the right to find out more about our favorite oil.
